NUMEROLOGY: An ancient science/art based in the fact that thought and the manifestation of thought, i.e. letters, words, numbers, is vibratory in nature. That vibration "creates" in the physical world whether that "creation" be a thought, a behavior pattern or a limousine. This belief in physical manifestation, creation based on a "word", is even mentioned in the Christian Bible. And "God said", "let there be light" and there was light. God saw that light was good and God divided light from darkness {formless void}." (Gen. 1:1-5, New Jerusalem Bible).

Man is a being of vibration. This was understood as far back as the Chaldeans who began to study human nature and work at understanding how they are played out in your life. They focused on the inner motivations, the cause behind the cause, that generates all man's actions, conscious as well as unconscious. Thus numerology began to be a useful tool for self-understanding and personal growth.

As man as a group "matured", numerology grew as well. Pythagoras then redefined and improved upon the work of the Chaldeans so that the numerology of today is known as Pythagorean numerology. The Jews extend their esoteric studies and work into this area.
