Points to Ponder
A
PARABLE: Two Wolves
**********************
A boy came to his grandfather, very angry at a schoolmate who had done
him an injustice. The grandfather said to him, "Let me tell you a story.
"I, too, at times, have felt great hate for those who have taken so
much, with no regret for what they do. But hate wears us down and doesn't
hurt our enemies. It's like taking poison and wishing our enemy would
die. I've struggled with these feelings many, many times.
"It's as if there are two wolves inside me. One is good and does no
harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and doesn't take offense
when no offense was intended. He'll only fight when it's clearly right
to do so, and then only in the right way.
"But the other wolf, ah! He's full of anger. The littlest thing will
set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for
no good reason. He can't think because his anger and hate are so great.
It's helpless anger, for his anger will change nothing.
"Sometimes it's hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both
of them try to dominate my spirit." The boy looked intently into his
Grandfather's eyes and asked, "Which one wins, Grandfather?"
The Grandfather smiled and replied, "Whichever one I feed."
THE THEATRE OF LIFE
******************
Life is a Theatre...Invite Your Audience Carefully..
Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.
There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a DISTANCE.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of or at least
minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere
relationships/friendships.
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention. which ones encourage
and which ones discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill
and which ones are going downhill? When you leave certain people do
you feel better or feel worse? Which ones always have drama or don't
really understand, know or appreciate you?
The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love and
truth around you...the easier it will become for you to decide who gets
to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of your
life.
"If you cannot 'CHANGE' the people around you, change 'THE PEOPLE' around
you"
Remember that the people we hang with will have an impact on both our
lives and our income. And so we must be careful to choose the people
we hang out with, as well as the information with which we feed our
minds. We should not share our dreams with negative people, nor feed
them with negative thoughts.
